Politics and the Church – The Church v. the Angel of Light [Part 35]

The last bastion of potential control for the angel of light…Satan…appears to be the earth, before he is cast into the fiery pit.  Be not fooled that he will not give up this bastion without a fight.  He will try with all his evil might to come up with a god to replace the one, true God.  That god…our very planet earth.

He will blame human activity for global climate change as though people can thwart the will of God.  In all of his evil graces, the angel of light will claim that climate change is an urgent threat to the environment, wildlife, economics, national security and the health and well-being of people.  What are his real goals?  Could it be to create worship of a false god to create chaos, halt progress, punish success and destroy lives.  Such a goal needs to be further investigated.  What does the Bible say? ” Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have domination over the fish, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”  [Genesis 1:28].

It was first called ‘global warming’ by environmentalist.  Liberals claimed that the earth was warming due to human activity, specifically in developed countries.  Then that ‘weather genius’ Al Gore made a movie about it in 2006 called “An Inconvenient Truth”, which made a lot of predictions about global warming.  As the years passed, harsh winters, record snow, and record cold temperatures continually occurred.  The predictions of climate scientists and ‘weather expert’ Gore were wrong.  They were not wrong by a little, but by a lot.  All of the predictions from the movie failed to materialize.  The only thing this environmental campaign accomplished was to make Gore a lot of money and win him a Nobel Peace Prize.  It also indoctrinated a lot of easily

impressionable people into environmentalism.

As is a tactic of the angel of light, when predictions of dire consequences of global warming do not materialize, the names are changed…”global warming” became “climate change”.  This is similar to “murder” becoming “abortion” to becoming “women’s health”.  What does “climate change” mean?  It means that there is going to be a change in global or regional climate patterns.  Surprise!  Everything changes over time.  If you look at the history of the earth, you will see that climate changed even before man appeared upon it.

A recent liberal president has said, “No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change.”  I am so thankful to hear that.  I thought it might be the disintegration of the family, the murder of the unborn, the abandonment of the value of human life, or the prevalence of greed and envy.  We should be able to fix climate change and continue on with life otherwise. Then another liberal presidential candidate comes along and reminds us “…if we don’t address the global crisis of climate change, the planet that we are going to be leaving our kids and our grandchildren may well not be habitable.”  And not to be outdone, Hollywood’s Natalie Portman said, “We do to God’s creatures what the Nazis did to us” in protest to the shedding of innocent blood…animal blood that is.

To debate scientific arguments is pointless, because so many experts disagree, and we would not be able to determine what is true or not.  Scientists cannot determine the path of a hurricane with any certainty, which is only a prediction of a few hours and a few days, but now they claim they can determine the temperature of the earth 50 years from now.  So why write about this subject in discussing politics and the church?  Well the liberal platform engages in worshipping false gods, punishing success, taking away freedoms and destroying lives and much of that activity is all based on the single issue of climate change.

The liberal platform will do anything to stop you from worshipping God. The goal is for you to worship liberalism and progressiveism.  If they cannot do that, then they will try to get you to worship anything other than God.  There is another religion out there called Gaia Worship.  It is the uniting of all life forms around the goddess of Mother Earth.  It is basically worshipping the creation rather than the Creator.  It basically puts man on the same level as animals.  The liberals have created something called Earth Day, to celebrate the earth.  These are the same people who turned Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, into Santa Claus and happy holidays!  God’s creation is glorious and beautiful…far better than any Hollywood creation presented by those who oppose the Word of God.  The Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. [Genesis 1:1].  We are in awe of God’s creations, but we are not to worship them.

The liberal agenda is always aimed at punishing success and rewarding failure…unless you are one of the pundits pushing the agenda.  Frequently the victim card is played.  They believe that poor undeveloped countries are victims and need compensation from wealthy advanced countries.  Of course, governments have nothing to do with the dilemma facing the poorer nations since government is something to be worshiped.  Punishment of success is the real solution…tongue in cheek. Wealth is taken…stolen…from the rich and given…with strings attached…to the poor.  And of course, businesses must be punished in favor of the environment and animals…in spite of the income and livelihood they provide employees…humans.

The Paris Climate Treaty was an agreement between numerous countries to regularly report on the contribution that each undertakes to mitigate global warming.  This agreement required that developed nations help developing countries with the costs of ‘going green’…and the costs of coping with the effects of climate change as though government and man could buy their way out of a changing climate.  Targets for each country were not legally binding and a country would not be penalized if it did not meet its target.  How convenient!  Of course, there would be no guarantee that the agreement would have any impact on climate.  It means, developed countries are going to pay a lot of money (wealth transfer) to poor mismanaged and corrupt countries.  A liberal dream and a door of opportunity for those countries who have no intent on complying, because honest competition would be stifled.  A conservative president saw this for what it was…’an agreement less about the climate and more about other countries gaining financial advantage over the United States.’  B y the way, many of the representatives to this climate conference arrived in private jets carrying very few passengers and contributing to ‘climate deterioration.’

I can’t help but wonder what was going on in North America when great northern glaciers started to recede leaving behind the Great Lakes?  Florida was once almost completely under water. Were cave men building too many camp fires or were dinosaurs producing too much ‘gas’?  Wasn’t that also ‘global warming’?  Likewise, I see on the TV weather reports that occasionally high temperature records are broken.  Reason for concern?  I also see that some of these previous records were set in the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s.  Were we having global warming then?  Climate change advocates like to say ‘highest in recorded history’.  I must then ask ‘how long have we been recording temperatures?’  100, 200, 500, 1,000, years or more?  God created this gift we call ‘earth’ and He will not let us destroy it unless it is His will.  In a liberal society that is trying to destroy God, such a concept is not to be considered.  The angel of light is certainly upset by those who denounce global warming.  Good for him!

Next week we will see how environmentalism is an attack on our freedoms.  It is also an attack on the supremacy of God.  This is certainly a subject to be touched upon from the pulpit, even if it does ruffle a ‘few feathers’.
