I am still confounded as to why anyone would not want a secure border for this nation? Such a desire is anti-Biblical…much less irresponsible. There are examples in the Bible where not only were walls and borders established but done so with the inspiration of God. Let’s take a look.
The first example for borders and a border wall is found in the book of Nehemiah. When King Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem, he knocked down the walls and burned the gates of the city. These were symbols of the city’s security. It left the Israelites defenseless. With no walls, their enemies could easily enter the city, plunder it, and attack the citizens. Nehemiah was told by his brother, “The wall and gates surrounding the city are all fallen down. The people are in trouble.” Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem. When he arrived, he looked over the city to see what needed to be done. He told the people he had returned and was going to rebuild the wall and gates. The wall was protection for the people and the gates were a method of allowing only certain people into the city. When the enemies of the Israelites heard the news they were determined to stop him…sound familiar? They also mocked Nehemiah for building the wall. Does this sound familiar? The enemies of Jerusalem wanted to stop Nehemiah from building the wall to protect the city. Today, liberals are against a secure border or building a wall to protect America. Nehemiah and the Israelites built the wall at the same time they fought off their enemies. Once again, does this sound familiar? The Bible says, “And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.” [Nehemiah 6:15-16]. The Bible says that the enemies of the Israelites were disheartened and sad because they knew it was the work of God. The liberals would be happy if the wall was not built and the borders of America were not secure. They, too, would probably be disheartened should the border be secured. This required that not only did the Israelites trust in God, but they had to ‘put some skin into the game’ by fighting off the enemy. Today too many Christians find comfort in doing nothing that requires physical exertion.
There is a second Biblical example for a secure border…count the cost. The Bible says, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it…lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see him begin to mock him. saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?” [Luke 14:28-30]. Anytime you plan to build something of value, whether it is a road, house, community, or relationship you must count the cost. If you do not count the cost, you may not have the funds to finish it. In Scripture Jesus was saying to count the cost for following Him. There is a cost to you if you are going to be a Believer. You need to count that cost and make sure you can pay it. Jesus used the example of building a tower. In Orlando, Florida, there is a building (the Majesty Building) that was started in 2001. The cost was not counted and to this day (18 years later), the building remains unfinished. It has been mocked city wide…known as ‘the eye sore on I-4’.
If you are going to build a city or a country, you must count the cost. Imagine that the street next to your house is an open border and on the other side of that street is another country…no fence, no check points, no limitations, and that anyone could cross the street at will? Imagine that your side of the street was wealthy…or at least inhabited by citizens who work hard for what they have? Your side of the street has jobs and freedom. On the other side of the street…the border…is a neighborhood…country… filled with corruption, crime, and poverty. There would be an influx of people on to your side of the street and that influx would be so overwhelming that you could not control it. Your side of the street was planned and the cost of police protection, schools, hospitals, businesses, roads and housing was planned based on the population of tax paying citizens. If the other side of the street started to come into your neighborhood there would not be enough schools, not enough jobs, not enough hospitals, not enough housing, not enough roads, and not enough police to keep order. This would increase the burden on the tax payer to pay for all the people crossing the ‘street’. It would create chaos and disorder. The citizens doing the right things, working and providing for their families and community services, would have to carry the burden and be penalized. The cost is not planned for.
One of the tactics of the liberal platform is to try to silence the opposition. Remember, if you are not with God, you are against Him. What is the liberal tactic for those who oppose open borders? They call those in opposition racist and they make false argument that the opponents do not want immigration. The truth is that opponents of open borders want regulated immigration. They want to allow people into America that mean no harm to America and then in numbers that do not take away from the services that are provided to citizens. No border security or a border wall leaves us defenseless to those that wish to do us harm. Those that propose open borders are hypocrites. They live in homes with walls, gates, security and locks on their doors. The average citizen cannot afford extensive security systems around their homes.
In a point of hypocrisy, the liberals relate to the Native American Indians as a group that ‘genocide’ was committed against. The Indians had no border, no walls around their ‘cities’, and no wall around their homes. Now that is how the liberals want to model the United States after using a failed defense to criticize our nation.
The liberal media has made a big issue of and portrayed those enforcing the border as mean and evil because parents that come across the border with their children illegally get separated when they are caught. If a parent and child are illegal in their attempt to cross the border, it is breaking the law. Of course from what we have seen by the actions of some liberals, that does not mean much. The parent and child do get separated. A child should not be held in a facility with criminal adults where they could be preyed upon. The same happens to an American citizen committing a crime and getting arrested. The child is not placed in prison with the parent. Individuals who serve in the military and are deployed into service are separated from their families for extended periods of time. There is one other place you might want to consider where there is a wall, gates, and an extreme vetting process where parents are separated from their children…it is Heaven! It is described in Revelation 21:12-15.
Why does Heaven need walls and a gate? Heaven is an exclusive place that cannot be entered by the wicked and evil that are not worthy. The Bible says, “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” [Revelation 22:14-15].
Walls, gates, and vetting is Biblical irregardless of the rhetoric spewed by liberal propaganda.
Next week we will look at why the term “America First” so irritates liberals and their agenda. Satan knows that America isn’t perfect but it is one of the few nations in the world willing to take a stand for Christian principles and liberty. I look forward to writing on this subject.

Nice article. It is still a very tough call though with liberalization and neo-liberalism going on around the world. It takes courage to close borders.
