Politics and the Church – Building a Free Nation [Part 29]

This week we will delve into a term that is very real but may not be taken too seriously by many citizens.  The term…Great Reset.  It is a proper noun, not an abstract concept.  It is a real plan that has been put together…innocently enough…by powerful, international elites…we would like to call them simple businessmen…through the World Economic Forum (WEF), a very public version of a secret society.  The World Economic Forum is an organization committed to what could be called a true communist agenda.  It is advancing a utopian vision of the world akin to what Marx articulated in the Communist Manifesto back in 1848…the key component being the elimination of private property.

From a Judeo-Christian perspective, there are two fundamental problems with the WEF’s agenda.  First, it rejects the notion of God…and especially the Christian God…because it takes a hostile view of Western civilization (and thus the Judeo-Christian values and teachings on which it has been built).  Second, is that in rejecting God, it also refuses to acknowledge the sinful nature of man.  Throughout history, every secular vision of utopia has relied upon men transcending their desire to harm or exploit others for their own gain.  Sadly, history shows all too clearly that sin and evil are inextricable from this world and from human hearts.  To hear the WEF talk, you would think that the only reason that Cain slew Able was because Able owned the lamb he offered as a sacrifice to God.  His murder was the result of private property and the envy it created; therefore, private property must be eliminated.  But Christians understand that there is a more sinister force at work…one that must be fought against in each of us through vigilance, faith, and prayer.

“Be alert and of sober mind.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”  (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Through the Great Reset the WEF seeks to remove the liberties that have been granted to individuals…first by God, and then through the champions of liberty who were born of the Enlightenment.  God’s Natural Law, as explained by Thomas Aquinas, found a secular articulation in the works of John Locke.  Together, they formed the foundation for the individual rights of men codified in the constitutions of the great Western nations, but most particularly in the United States Constitution…the greatest secular document ever written.  When our Founding Fathers incorporated Judeo-Christian values into the Constitution, they found a way to institutionalize God’s grace and mercy to construct a new nation. This makes the United States special…and a singular problem for the WEF.  Why?  Our Constitution is a document that created a federal government from the ground up…starting with free individuals.  The states created the federal structure, not the other way around.  Individuals in turn created the states.  We have constructed a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”  A nation with such a structure and such a history is antithetical to the globalist Marxists of the WEF.  They seek a world where individuals and nations are erased, where individual parts become indistinguishable from the whole.  But America is a nation where each individual is a whole onto themselves because each one of us is created in the image of God.

” So, God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”  (Genesis 1:27).

Because the WEF…through the Great Reset…seeks to replace the God-given liberty of the individual with a form of collective control, it directly threatens anyone who cherishes the idea of freedom.  Keep in mind, cherishing freedom is not something exclusive to Christians.  There are millions of secular libertarians and objectivists who believe in man’s right to be free every bit as much as faithful Christians do.  In that regard, we are kindred spirits and share similar values.  We do not, however, share the same obligation.  Secular supporters of individual freedom and constitutional values owe their allegiance and their obligation to defend liberty only to themselves and perhaps to others.  But the Christian soldier in the battle for freedom has a much higher calling:  a duty to God to fight to preserve what’s been entrusted to him.  While the Masters of the Universe in the WEF plot to take away liberty, Christians need to know how to fight back…not only for the sake of humanity…but out of duty and obligation to our Lord.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against

      the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:10-11).

The WEF is orchestrating something that Scripture forewarns in the Book of Daniel, the Book of Revelation, and elsewhere.  Christians of all denominations need to come together and join as one body in the fight.  This will be a challenge, but one that must be overcome.  Disagreements within Christianity began with Peter and Paul, and have only become more fractious over the centuries.  But whether Protestant or Catholic, Lutheran or Anglican, Eastern or Greek Orthodox, all Christians have two things in common:

     >   We believe in God; and

     >   We know we are not Him

The members of the WEF do not share our belief in God, so they lack the humility required to restrain their actions.  Absent a belief in God, it is easy to cast oneself in the role of god.  This sinful pride manifests itself in the WEF’s actions.  In simultaneously rejecting God and attempting to supplant Him, they are channeling Satan and executing his plan.  It is important to keep in mind that the members of WEF are not necessarily evil in terms of their intent.  Most people do not wake up each morning and say to themselves, “I think I will do something evil today.”  Many, perhaps most, of those engaged in evil might deceive themselves into thinking they are doing good.  It’s possible even Joseph Stalin believed he was truly helping Russia by condemning millions to death.  The problem is that when you reject God, you open a door through which Satan can enter.  You become a vessel through which the dark one can execute his plan.

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory

of Christ, who is the image of God (2 Corinthians 4:4).

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for Satan himself,

masquerades as an angel of light.  It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness.

Their end will be what their actions deserve (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

Today, Satan is among us, and he is acting through the members of the WEF.  It doesn’t matter whether these actors have deliberately nefarious intentions; they are doing the Devil’s bidding.  It is time for Christians to come together as one to resist the machinations of the dark one.  We may be joined by our secular brethren, or we may not.  Regardless, our duty is to God and our duty is to fight back.  Our reward for so doing is promised:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will

receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.  It is the Lord Christ you are serving.  Anyone who does wrong will be

repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism (Colossians 3:23-25).

As Christians, we will know what we need to do to foil this evil plot.

Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully (Proverbs 28:5).

Next week we will take a look at just what exactly the World Economic Forum is…what is its mission statement, its vision and who is leading this organization?  Why is it a threat to building a free nation?
