This week we will look at the last of the Communist goals to destabilize America and the democratic institutions it represents and supports. Today we see a government that is practically non-functional due to political party animosity. The representatives of the people seem to not be able to agree on anything…just as the Communists hoped. Our leaders are falling right in line with the Communist agenda. Let’s see how that is happening.
#42 Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use “united force” to solve economic, political or social problems. The so-called ‘urban revolution’ was preached on many college campuses during the riotous 1960’s, and after. Various groups that formed included such extreme activists as the ‘Students for a Democratic Society’ (SDS)…which was anything except what they stood for, the Weathermen, the Weather Underground, the Black Panthers, the Symbionese Liberation Army, Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, QAnon, etc. In 1971, Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals, gave activist groups step-by-step instructions on how to organize segments of society to push their socialist agenda. A key to winning popular support for socialism is to rename its various goals. Such phrases began to circulate and become popularized, such as “social justice” (all things in common), “progressivism” (erase the Constitution), “economic democracy” (take from productive people, give to unproductive people), “work-place democracy” (unions controlling owners’ private property), “environmental justice” (anti-human policies, and global warming doctrine), “assault weapons” (anti-gun term), “living wage” (wage control), “abortion rights” (slaughter of the unborn), “homophobic” (unhealthy fear of homosexuality), “undocumented worker” (illegal immigrants), “anti-choice” (people with traditional or Biblical values regarding abortion), “gender reassignment” (sex change), etc. There is a new obscenity in today’s culture…a new anything goes. Among members in society there is an accepted disrespect for traditional decent and good, and an acceptedrespect for a degraded kind of “good”. This destructive movement against families and churches has risen to prominence and influence. It has united disparate forces with its many slogans, phrases, and words to establish anti-family and anti-Judeo-Christian beachheads in all levels of society…from day care centers to the White House.
#43 Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government. Even after the fall of the USSR, the Russians continued building hegemony to the point that today they are successfully aligning themselves with war-torn nations in the Middle East. This is a move to depose the US as the dominant stabilizing power in the region. The inconsistent on-again, off-again policies of US support for Israel, and the perpetuation of the politically-manipulated wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, have cost the US a great deal. It will be a hard-fought contest to win back the trust of those nations now feeling ignored and abandoned by the US. Keep in mind too, that Iran and the US were once allies.
#44 Internationalize the Panama Canal. On September 7, 1977, a treaty ending American occupation of the Panama Canal Zone was signed by President Carter. Free control was contingent upon the Panamanians’ guarantee that the canal would forever remain neutral. On December 31, 1999, the American withdrawal was completed. The questions now remains, in a time of national emergency will the Canal remain open for national defense needs?
#45 Repeal the Connally Reservation so the US cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike. The Connally Reservation changed the wording of the US document ratifying the UN Charter. The change was to prevent the International Court of Justice from having any say over domestic matters in the US. In other words, Americans will decide what goes before an international tribunal and what doesn’t. Repealing the Connally Reservation has been tried multiple times but was defeated each time. Those supporting the repeal always skirt around the real danger: What is to protect American interests if the UN charter is amended or altered to allow jurisdiction over domestic internal or inter-state affairs? This Connally Reservation is the only major Communist goal that has failed to get off the ground.
Now that we have been exposed to the 45 goals of Communism it may be easier to see how many of today’s liberal and progressive efforts fit right in. Next week we will return to reviewing what Communist efforts are now in play. To fight such an enemy we need God to give us the strength and we need to know what is in the enemy’s play book. Satan is ‘slick and deceiving’ in his efforts and many will fall into his web if they are not forewarned. Let’s pray that our Christian church leadership is willing to take a stand before communism forces Christians to worship in the shadows of fear. If Christians take a stand they have no reason to fear.
