Satan appears as the Angel of Light in an attempt to replace God in your life with government. He wants you to place your cares and trust in the government. Thus the government will provide you with everything you need in life including food, shelter, and clothing. He will eliminate mistreatment and injustice even if it requires administering same to those who keep their trust in God.
What does the Bible say? “To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord Himself is God; there is none other besides Him.” [Deuteronomy 4:35]. “There is no other God ‘Thus says the lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.'” [Isaiah 44:6]. Further,“For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” [1 Corinthians 8:5-6].
Every platform around which the liberal movement centers represents one specific goal…the idolatry of government. Idolatry is the worship of idols. It is the excessive devotion or reverence for some person or thing as a god. An idol is anything that replaces the one, true God in your life. Idolatry of the government is where everything begins and ends with the liberal platform. If you worship government you will not need anything else in your life. People make false gods (idols) out of all kinds of things. People worship sports stars, reality stars…which in reality is about as far as one can get from reality, movie stars…likewise, money, work, possessions, cars, houses, and even natural things such as the earth. You can add ‘political party’ to the list. The liberal agenda wants their ‘political party’ to be a god in your life.
The liberal platform, like Satan, is a master of deception. In time, though, the lies and schemes of the liberals are revealed, because their schemes never work. When their schemes fail and get exposed, they just change terms and tactics. For example: instead of the term ‘government handout’…which has a negative connotation with time, they use a new term. That term…’welfare’. ‘As we all know, welfare means the health, happiness, and fortunes of a person. Money handed out by the government thus provides ‘health, happiness and good fortune’. The ploy was eventually identified by the people who pay the bills of the state, thus the term had to be changed. Welfare morphed into ‘benefits’. Definition…something that produces good or helpful results or that promotes well-being. Endless benefits without responsibilities does not promote well-being…it destroys. This ploy, too, was eventually detected so it was time to change terms again. ‘Benefits’ became ‘entitlements’. By definition…a right to something. Those eligible for entitlements have legal recourse if the obligation is not fulfilled. They have a right to money from the government…the taxpayer. People that do not work or earn below a certain yearly income now are entitled to money from the government.
We must understand that there are some programs by government that disperse money to individuals such as Social Security that people are entitled to. Social Security pays individuals back at a certain age when they retire, after they paid into it for many years while they worked. Recipients are entitled to that money. Unfortunately entitlements have been perverted to cover much more. Now included is welfare, food stamps, housing subsidies, etc. According to the liberal agenda, any payment you get from the federal government is deemed an entitlement.
It is important to once again look at what the Bible says. God through His Word says that not only do we have an obligation to work and not be lazy, but we are to be an example to others and we should not even associate with those who refuse to work. The Bible says:
“But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.” [2 Thessalonians 3:6-14].
The answer to poverty is not the government. If one wants to leave poverty the answer is to use one’s talents and not hide or bury them…get an education, work and manage what God gave you wisely. These are Godly principles. Unfortunately, when a real solution is provided to solve a problem in society such as poverty, the liberal platform mocks it, lies about it, and twists the truth, because they do not desire a solution that rewards you.
The liberals somehow believe that it is government that creates wealth…and for some politicians that seems to be true. They have tried to villianize the shakers and movers in industry but when was the last time a poor person or a person who had no motivation hired workers and paid them a reasonable salary?
