The Bible directly addresses the issue of individuals (not government) willingly making a personal decision of giving money to help others in need. God is pleased by our giving and we receive blessings for what we do. If all our needs were cared for…all had the same…there would be one problem…how are people to give? Your giving would be limited by your government handout and your blessing would also be limited. The Bible calls on us to work and to help others. The Bible says,”Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.” [Ephesians 4:28].
We are to work and earn an honest living to provide for our families and to help others. We are to give to others in need and when we do, we receive blessings for it. The Bible says,”But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” [2 Corinthians 9:6-7]. Further the Bible says,…”And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” [Acts 20:35]. The liberal platform would appear to be contrary to God, wanting to steal (take away) the blessings of ‘working and giving’ that God has for you. God tests us in the matter of receiving and giving to see whether we desire to live by the principles of the world or of His kingdom. There will be even greater blessings that you will receive in Heaven than those received on earth, because earthly blessings are only temporary. They will be unlike anything you can imagine. The Bible says,“But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” [1 Corinthians 2:9].
How you spend eternity should be of great concern for you. The Bible says that we are saved by faith but judged by our works. Your faith determines where you will spend eternity. If you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will spend eternity in heaven. Next comes is how you will spend eternity in Heaven? The Bible says there are rewards given in Heaven for the work you do on earth. The Bible describes five crowns that a believer can earn…Imperishable Crown, the Crown of Rejoicing, the Crown of Righteousness, the Crown of Glory, and the Crown of Life. What you do with your time here on earth matters. All will stand before Christ when our lives are done, either to receive our reward or our punishment. The Bible says,“For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done , whether good or bad.” [2 Corinthians 5:10].
Next week we will look at an attempt by the angel of light to replace God with the idolatry of government. What better way to destroy the blessings of individual giving than to remove the necessity for individual giving by replacing God’s individual blessings with a ‘generous’ government funded by theft from the people. We are seeing today people who could not survive without the government stipend and the angel of light is delighted. Do we hear about this situation from our pulpits? We have people who need to be exposed to this attempt by Satan to ‘steal’ souls through government dependency. To a great degree the society receives most of its information on this happening from the government itself and the liberal proponents who have found that a way to gain power comes through the generosity of giving away other people’s hard earned money.

I am currently studying the impact of communism…progressiveism, liberalism…on the Christian world. We will see how ‘dialectical materialism’ is a major enemy of the church, and that many church leaders do not even realize it. I look forward to writing this series in the future.
