Before we start this week I want to present something I was recently reading in Ezekiel. Just as a reminder he was a prophet before, during, and after the siege and destruction of Jerusalem. He had a vision of Jerusalem’s sin in Chapters 8 and 9. For example: “And he said to me, ‘Son of man, do you see what they are doing…the utterly detestable things the Israelites are doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see things that are even more detestable.'” [Ezekiel 8:6]. Israel’s leaders were much to blame for the sinful state of the people and had to bear much of the responsibility on their shoulders. It took a foreign king, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, to bring God’s judgement on Jerusalem. Nebuchadnezzar was even referred to as “My servant” in Jeremiah 27:6. This was a very early example of ‘man’s politics’ trying to replace God’s. Could that be happening today? Is the greatest nation the world has known…at least in man’s eye…on the path to destruction? Let’s look further at man’s effort to upset God’s plan.
Maybe the greatest irony of the feminist-endorsed transgenderism is that it threatens to undo the achievements of Title IX, a law banning sex discrimination in public education. Feminists are proud of Title IX and the vast athletic opportunities for women it created. Thanks to ‘man’s politics’ and to the law, American girls have more teams to play on than girls in any other country in the world. What a great thing feminists and ‘man’s politics’ did for women. But wait a minute, in the United States and in international competitions, biological men…those are the ones God created to be male…who identify as women can compete as female athletes, despite the immense biological advantages they enjoy even after undergoing hormone treatments.
Not surprisingly, men have performed well against their biological female competitors. In 2017, a ‘biological’ man won multiple girls’ titles in Connecticut’s state track-and-field meet. Cyclist Jill Bearden (born Jonathan) almost immediately became a top-tier female cyclist once ‘he’ transitioned, winning the El Tour de Tucson in 2016. In New Zealand, transgender weight lifter, Laurel Hubbard, smashed multiple records with ease after making a gender switch. ‘He’ /it was complemented for ‘his courage’ for competing against women. I suppose ‘man’ giveth and ‘man’ taketh away.
Men posing as female weight lifters is not the biggest problem Western civilization faces, but it is a serious symptom of a deeper rot. When people in charge retreat into fantasy, and demand that everyone else join them there, society itself becomes impervious to reality. The entire population develops the habits of fact-avoidance and lying. After a while, no one can see a crisis, or even admit that one exists.
Maybe at this point I should interject my thoughts on mankind and its makeup. Maybe this is why I put such emphasis on the responsibility God’s church, the Christian church, has in society. I believe mankind is made up of three major ‘components’…body, heart, and conscience. The body…the people who make up the populous. They are all different but all have the same makeup in their ability to survive. The heart…unlike the tone set by much writing… I believe is the government. That’s the interface with the body that provides the ‘organization’ and is supposed to hold the body together…the ‘life blood’ of establishing society’s standards. The conscience is God’s church. The conscience is what controls the acts of the body and heart. Of course the conscience can mean different things in different parts of the world. I write about those parts of the world where Judeo/Christian principles are the conscience foundations for the nation. Depending on the foundation principles of some nations, the conscience may dictate entirely different actions, some contrary to the Judeo/Christian principles of our nation. When a conscience decides to divorce itself from the body and heart, we can see what happens. Some commit acts others would never conceive of committing. Some will acquiesce to acts of others they themselves would not participate in but approve of because ‘man’ says it’s OK. When the heart starts to fall apart, the body starts to fail, and the conscience looses its ability to influence. When that happens, the body dies, must be ‘buried’ and start all over again. It has happened to civilizations over the thousands of years. I believe that God’s churches can prevent this ‘death’ but only if it wants to…and today, many don’t.
This has happened with the crisis of men in America…which is both real and largely ignored. If you’re a middle-aged American man, you probably know at least one peer who has killed himself in recent years…maybe even more than one. If you’re a parent, you may have noticed that your daughter’s friends seem more impressive than your son’s. They get better grades. They smoke less weed. They go to more prestigious colleges. As an employer, you may have noticed that your female employees show up on time. Young men often don’t. And if you live in America, you’ve seen a horrifying series of mass shootings, far more than the country ever had in the past. In every case the shooter was a man. What is happening to men in America? Has our ‘conscience’ failed. Has ‘man’s politics’ put ‘God’s politics’ on the back burner and do we now see God’s plan for men and women as a bad plan? Has a ‘cancer’ invaded the ‘body’ and is the ‘heart’ starting to fail?
More next week on how man’s good intent for women is in fact destroying our nation. We must always remember that God’s plan will always prevail but in the process we may pay a heavy price getting back into line with God’s will.
